Who we are
Stix Internet was born of two business partners in a marriage of IT and engineering skill sets. With a wealth of experience previous to Stix Internet, Tony Armitage and Ross Williams have independently worked for the likes of McLaren Racing and BT in engineering and IT Comms consultancy roles, respectively. Having identified a need for high-speed connectivity in the area local to them, the pilot Stix Internet network started to be built in 2016. Now with robust infrastructure and proven technology, the network today covers many more areas in Yorkshire and continues to grow, serving many happy customers.
How it works
Using point to point wireless technology, our network is built to make links in areas where cables can’t. We bring much needed connectivity to farms, homes and businesses in rural countryside locations. Further, we deliver this using high-grade and tested engineering, having developed a system to protect the network and ensure continuity of service at all times for our customers. With growing reach, even if you are outside of our current service area it is worth to keep checking back to see if our network is coming to you. If we can’t help you yet, we may be able to very soon!
The process
Contact us and let us have your installation location. We’ll come back to you promptly with an answer as to how quickly we can reach you with internet connectivity. If we can reach you, we will book an installation date that works for you. Installation costs £195 and usually takes our engineers up to 3 hours at your address.
We don’t charge anything in advance of installation. We simply ask customers to complete our direct debit form, by using the safe online link we provide to you (via our ‘Go Cardless’ partner).
Our engineers install a small powered antenna to the outside of your home with a single cable to the inside. This connects to a power supply and a wifi router. Don’t worry, we take pride in a tidy job.
All installed. Your installation and first monthly payment comes out of your account up to a week after installation and your chosen monthly payment plan continues, with the monthly payment taken exactly one calendar month after installation. You’re connected and ready to go!
